Launching A Legacy, The Mission Continues with You
Leonardo’s Children’s Museum is excited to announce Launching A Legacy, The Mission Continues with You is this year’s theme for the annual award and scholarship fundraiser. The event will take place Friday, March 27, 2020 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. inside the museum at 200 West Maple in Enid and will feature very special guest, Richard Garriott.
Garriott is the son of the late Owen K. Garriott and Helen Walker Garriott, co-founders of Leonardo’s Children’s Museum. He, along with his brother Robert and a group lovingly nicknamed the Friday/Saturday Gang, started a business in the Garriott’s garage that would grow to provide seed money for the dream that began as Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse. Richard Garriott is described as a video-game developer, entrepreneur, programmer, author and space traveler! He is such an entertaining, interesting person. So the evening promises to be exciting.
Event guests will enjoy an adult only evening complete with dinner, silent and live auction, presentation of annual awards and many other fun surprises that only a grown-up evening in a children’s museum will allow. Not only will money raised help to ensure the continuation of the Garriott’s legacy to Enid but will also help to establish a new legacy of philanthropy that can be passed down through families to ensure that Leonardo’s Children’s museum exists for children to enjoy for years to come.
Executive Director, Tracy Bittle said “The annual fundraising and awards event is an event I look forward to every year. Having Richard here to help is so exciting. The museum would not be where it is today without the generosity of its supporters”.
Tickets are limited and may be purchased online at www.leonardos.org or by calling (580)233-2787 for $75 per person. Additional sponsorships are available including a $500 sponsorship for a table of eight.
